Period 2 - Kate's Reflection on the Week

Wow, what a fun week! Well it is always fun with Mr. Gainey. We always start with our word of the day to expand our vocabulary. Usually in every class, we have some sort of a technology activity. Even though this is a Language Arts class, Mr. G. always finds a way to weave in another form of education. I bet if you are on a hunt for the best classroom in America (or even the world) the Cluster Two Language Arts class in Lake Eola Charter School will definitely be on your list!

Thoughts from Jayla

During this school year, I've learned how to indent, summarize and ask questions to myself. I ask myself...Tell me what you're going to tell me, then tell me, then tell me what you told me. That is what Mr. Gainey taught me in class. I have to say that speech in my head so that I know what I am doing while reading a book and while writing. Mr. Gainey taught me to indent. He told me to put one finger on the paper and then wherever your finger ends, you have to start writing in that place.
